1st Meeting of the Hydrographic-Navigational Council in the new term

The 1st Meeting of the Hydrographic-Navigational Council in the new term was held on 24 January 2025 on the premises of the Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia.

The Hydrographic-Navigational Council has a president and nine members, who are appointed for a period of four years and dismissed by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure. It is an expert advisory body which, along with the Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia, gives strategic direction and provides for the systematic development of the hydrographic activity in the Republic of Croatia.

The new Council consists of:

  • Toni Maričević, president of the Hydrographic-Navigational Council, on behalf of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure
  • Alen Rukavina, on behalf of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Harbour Master’s Office Zadar
  • Mladen Novoselec, on behalf of the Ministry of the Interior
  • Ivan Radić, PhD, on behalf of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition
  • Capt. Augustin Urlić, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia, Command of the Croatian Navy
  • Nada Ujević, on behalf of the State Geodetic Administration
  • Prof. Ivana Racetin, PhD, on behalf of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy, University of Split
  • Tonći Panžić, PhD, on behalf of the Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia
  • Adrijan Jadro, on behalf of the Croatian Chamber of Geodetic Engineers
  • Nikola Rušinović, on behalf of Jadroplov.

The meeting was attended on behalf of the Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia by the Director Vinka Kolić Bubić.

The meeting discussed the current state of hydrographic activity and other matters of topical interest within the scope of the Hydrographic Institute. During the meeting, the S-100 Universal Hydrographic Data Model was presented, as the basis for the IMO concept of e-Navigation. There was also a presentation on the functionalities of the HHI Geoportal (Marine Spatial Data Portal), as a tool to be used by stakeholders in the maritime sector to improve maritime safety.
